Nimonic 80A (UNS N07080 / W.Nr. 2.4952, 2.4631) is a wrought, age-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy. Nimonic 80A is similar to Nimonic 75 but made precipitation hardenable by additions of aluminium and titanium. Alloy 80A has good corrosion and oxidation resistance and high tensile and creep-rupture properties at temperatures to 815℃ (1500oF). Vacuum refined versions are also available. It is used for gas-turbine components (blades, rings, discs), bolts, tube supports in nuclear generators, exhaust valves in internal combustion engines and has many other offshore/marine, automotive and electrical applications.
Nimonic 80A Features
High oxidation and corrosion resistance
Outstanding mechanical properties after age hardening
Suitable for applications where elevated temperatures and continual stresses are a primary consideration
Good machinability
Easily welded
Nimonic 80A Applications
- Gas turbine engineering
- Automobile exhaust valves
- Die-casting inserts and cores
- Nuclear boiler tube parts
